Missionary Cellars' founder, Jet Titus, has had a vision for his “wine collective” since moving back to Walla Walla in 2004 and has been on a mission ever since. His vision: to partner with the valley's best wine makers to make custom blended wines for like minded people with a passion for wine, the good life and an interest in being a part of the unique culture and business.
With an appreciation which evolved into a love of wine while living in the Boston area from 1999 to 2004, Jet, his wife Julie and their two children, Piper and Max, moved to Walla Walla to live their dream. Julie has been in the industry for nearly ten years working in tasting room sales, management and wine club management for Waterbrook, L'Ecole 41 and the Seven Hills Winery; some of the valley's true pioneers in the wine industry. Through Julie, Jet has gained an even greater knowledge, appreciation and passion for wine and the wine culture.
It wasn't until Jet linked up with Kate and Sean Morrison that his vision would become a reality.
Winemaker, Sean Morrison was born and raised in the Walla Walla Valley and worked on the production team of acclaimed winemaker John Abbott at Abeja for six years before leaving the job to help his parents with the Morrison Lane Estate Wines.
His wife Kate, a fellow Whitman alum, graphic designer and singer with The B Side, was doing freelance graphics work and doing gigs around the northwest when she came up with the idea for something big Cellars; a partnership with Sean which blends custom wines and labeling based out of the Morrison Lane Winery. Her idea for “something big”, a song title from here first album, came to fruition in 2012 when her operation received the necessary licensing and bonding to begin operating as a full fledged winery.
It was also at that point that Missionary Cellars went from vision to reality.
With the foundation in place to begin building his “wine collective”, Jet officially began his mission in January of 2015 and is bringing on new member/investors and customers to share in his vision, mission and passion.
